Anna Szepes

(she/her) drama instructor, theatre maker and facilitator

She was born and raised in  Budapest, graduated as a drama instructor from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2017 and became a co-founder of Thought-Generator, the new educational and community department of Trafó House of Contemporary Arts, where she developed interdisciplinary, participatory performances, laboratories, workshops and conferences until 2020. Besides, she worked as a freelance artist and educator in collectives of applied theatre projects, focusing on social and political issues and artistic research, and she facilitated long-term projects with Roma groups in rural Hungary. In the past years, she has worked in Spain and Austria, learning from and with different theatre companies and communities about utilising drama and theatre to create safer spaces, visibility, interaction, social change and activism.
